I'm Finished!!

I woke up to a scene like this outside my window this morning and it was and is still coming down.
I audibly sighed thinking of all the things that I needed to do today that required me to leave the comfort of my warm home. Jefferson's response: "Brrrrrrrr, its cold mama". Tell me about it. But, first things first. I donned my workout clothes and hit the treadmill. I know, I know, I only had 1.8 miles to go to finish, but there is something about knowing what's to come once you finish working out that makes you more tired and it's hard to come up with the required energy. I surpassed my goal today and let Jason know that he better start planning our date. To tell you the truth, I probably would not have finished if it wasn't for this blog. When I would wake up I would groan, but then I would remember that you guys were watching and would know if I was being lazy or not. I probably would have finished a week earlier, but I did get a little lazy. YIPPEE FOR ME! I did ask Jason if he thought I would finish and he said, "Ofcourse", what a good husband.

Tis the Season

Once again, this year we went to the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake to ring in the season. The day after Thanksgiving they have this big to do and it is a lot of fun. We went with my parents and sister and got to see Santa and Mrs. Claus and a huge tree, which they lit with a really cute children's choir singing. All the while they had free hot chocolate (the richest stuff I have ever tasted), candied almonds, and hot fresh scones with honey and powdered sugar. So fun!!
After being in the courtyard we went inside to decorate ginger bread men. Jefferson had a lot of fun. Some kids pretty much just dipped their cookies in frosting and sprinkles. I wasn't entirely sure what was under there after they finished.

Then we went and wrote letters to Santa, which the hotel mails for us. I wrote one and so did Jessie, but I couldn't get my parents or Jason to write one. Party poopers.

Jefferson got to mail all our letters for us. I think they are going to North Pole, Arkansas.

They had a gingerbread house contest, and Christmas window display/game, teddy bear town (which Jeffers hated due to the 7 foot grizzly mascot that scared the heck out of him. He started yelling HOME, HOME, AWAY, AWAY, pretty sad) It was really fun though and a great way to start the season. We didn't take pictures with Santa because the line was too long and it's only open two hours. Plus I don't think Jefferson is ready for Santa yet. Don't want to traumatize him, although it does seem like a tradition among parents. Maybe next year.

The Nativity Scene

Jefferson and I were putting up all of our nativities today and I thought it was a good time to talk to him about Baby Jesus and Christmas. Well, we have quite a lot of Nativities thanks to my mom, so we had the same conversation about 12 times.
Me: This is the Baby Jesus
Jefferson: Baby Chase
Me: NO, Baby Jesus
Jefferson: Baby Chase
Baby Chase is his cousin who he missed terribly during Thanksgiving. Apparently there are some things that I need to work on, concept wise, with my kid. They do sound a little similar though.
