It was really a lot of fun. It is a young adult fantasy novel, and while that is usually not my cup of tea, I really liked it. It is about a 14 year old girl who becomes queen after her father, the King, is killed in battle. She must lead her people to war to save their land. The reason I write about this is because everyone important receives a battle or warrior name. Here are some examples...
King Redrought Strong-in-th-Arm Lindenshield, Bear of the North, Defender of the Realm, Descendant of Thor...
Queen Thirrin Freer Strong-in-the-Arm Lindenshield, Wildcat of the North...
Lord Tharaman, One Hundreth Thar of the Snow Leopards, Ruler of the Icesheets, Scourge of the Ice Trolls...
There are more, but as you can see, they go on and on. And sometimes they get added to if you do something great like take an enemy's arm. So, after everything you get added on to your name, taker of Scipio Bellorum's hand, or something of that sort. Exhausting, I tell you.
Which brings me to my point. What would my battle name be if I were to have one? Would it be some thing like: Kara, Wife of Jason, maker of dinner, and changer of diapers or Kara Dixon Thomas, wise in the brain, warm in the heart, taker of toys? You get my drift.
Any thought, imput, suggestions? I'd like a battle name that's not too embarrassing if possible, because, you know, I fight a lot of battles around here.
O.K. I am going to try to post one a day for you.
