HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!
So, I really wanted to make something green for dinner and Jason did not appreciate that idea at all. He did not want to eat green eggs and ham nor green mashed potatoes, etc. And when I suggested naturally green foods like green beans, peas or spinach he decided he wanted pizza for dinner. He really hates vegetables, which is a constant struggle for me because I quite enjoy them. Instead of pizza I am making a delicious Irish Stew (except I am using beef not lamb)that I found at http://foodwishes.blogspot.com and with that we are having home-made potato bread. I think that is a very appropriate St. Patty's Day meal don't you? Jason just doesn't know how to get into the spirit of the holiday. I am sure he didn't even wear green today. I will have to pinch him.
This is Jefferson after a shot of Irish whiskey. J/K
Hope you are all enjoying the luck of the Irish today!!
Try them! Try them! You will see! Maybe Jason just needs to read the book again and then he'll try green eggs! Glad you got into the spirit of the day, though!
ReplyDeleteKB, I think it might not be wise to start your child so early with the libations. Poor child.
ReplyDelete:-)
Atleast you have breakfast and lunch you can make whatever you want on Holidays in the future for you and Jefferson. Jason does hate vegetables and always has. I think he has gotten better since he was a child.
ReplyDeleteDaniel has a hard time with some Holiday spirit to. I learned to not pinch Daniel on St. Patty's day a long time ago because it makes him a grump.
On St. Patrick's Day I went out with my friends and the soup & salad bar restaurant served a corned beef and cabbage soup. I enjoyed it so much as part of my St. Patty's day, and the fact I didn't have to make it myself. Daniel doesn't like corned beef & cabbage. =)
Kara,
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you did a great job at compromising for Jason's tastes. I know he is not a vegetable guy. But, the stew and bread sounds yummy! Delicious, in fact.
I wish I lived closer so that we could share the fun times and celebrate little holidays like this to balance out the fuddy duds.
Well, because I work in this tax office here with another old fuddy dud there was not much celebration of St Patrick's day here. Sandra was gone to Lisa and Daniel's for Spring Break. I had planned on wearing green and plumb forgot and I had totally brown on when I got to work. Jim and Joe were not too involved either. Ho hum!
Love,
MOM
